Quick answer
A withdrawable medium-voltage switchgear RFQ should define each truck position, the allowed movement between positions, racking method, shutters, secondary plug, earthing switch, interlocks, control power, cable access and acceptance tests. “Withdrawable” alone does not tell the buyer whether service, test, disconnected and removed positions are provided or how the equipment behaves at each position.
Why truck positions are a commercial boundary
A withdrawable lineup is a combination of primary equipment, truck or carriage, compartments, shutters, secondary connections, interlocks and operating instructions. The panel price can look similar while the delivered maintenance and testing scope is different. The buyer should therefore ask for a position schedule tied to the offered panel arrangement and the project operating philosophy.
Use the Medium Voltage Switchgear page to identify the Jinxing product family. Then attach the position schedule to the single-line, panel schedule and project enquiry page. Final mechanism, interlock and accessory availability must be confirmed for the offered configuration.
Define each position and its evidence
| Position or interface | Buyer decision | Evidence to request |
|---|---|---|
| Connected or service | Which primary and secondary connections are engaged, and what operating commands are permitted? | Position drawing, mechanism description and operating sequence |
| Test position | Which secondary circuits remain connected, and which primary circuits are isolated? | Test-position diagram and approved test procedure |
| Disconnected or isolated | How are primary contacts, shutters, control plugs and earthing conditions represented? | Position indicator, shutter detail and interlock schedule |
| Removed or maintenance | What lifting, parking, handling and storage arrangement is supplied? | Truck handling drawing, mass statement and maintenance instruction |
| Racking mechanism | What tool, travel, limit indication and abnormal-condition response apply? | Racking detail, limit switches and functional test record |
| Earthing and safety interfaces | Which earth switch, shutters, keys or permissives control the transition? | Interlock cause-and-effect schedule and acceptance cases |
| Secondary plug and control power | What disconnects, remains live or alarms when the truck moves? | Wiring diagram, terminal schedule and control-power list |
The table is a procurement framework, not proof that every Jinxing lineup offers every named position or accessory. Ask the supplier to mark available, optional, by-others and project-dependent items.
Coordinate the position schedule with the room
The MV switchgear room layout checklist should be reviewed with the truck schedule. Confirm front and rear access, withdrawal path, lifting route, parking space, cable trench, escape path, ventilation and future extension. A truck that can be withdrawn on a drawing may still be impossible to handle after doors, cable supports or adjacent equipment are installed.
Check the lineup sequence and feeder duty against the MV switchgear single-line diagram checklist. The schedule should identify which truck belongs to each panel and whether a bus coupler, incomer, transformer feeder or outgoing feeder has a different operating sequence. Do not use a generic position label to hide a panel-specific interlock.
Make interlocks and control power testable
The switchgear interlocking cause-and-effect schedule can help structure the review. For each movement or command, identify the required state, the signal or mechanical provision, the blocked action, the alarm or indication and the test owner. Separate internal panel functions from site-wide logic supplied by another contractor.
Control power also needs a named boundary. The medium-voltage switchgear control-power guide explains why continuous loads and short operating demands must be scheduled. State which secondary circuits are available in each truck position, which source or battery supplies them, and who tests the complete auxiliary path. A factory test with a temporary source does not accept the installed project distribution.
Record maintenance and acceptance scope
Ask for the operating and maintenance method before approving the order. It should identify truck lifting or parking, access to shutters and contacts, isolation, inspection, cleaning, spare parts, temporary storage and return to service. If a special trolley, handle, key or test plug is needed, list it as supplied, optional or by others.
The acceptance plan should include position indication, racking travel, shutter operation, secondary plug continuity, interlocks, earthing conditions, control commands and any project-defined site integration test. Tie each result to the panel, truck identity, drawing revision and responsible tester.
RFQ checklist
Include the following with a withdrawable MV switchgear enquiry:
- Voltage, current, short-circuit duty, frequency, feeder quantity and single-line diagram.
- Panel functions such as incomer, outgoing feeder, transformer feeder, bus coupler and metering.
- Required truck positions and allowed commands or tests in each position.
- Racking method, travel indication, shutters, interlocks, keys, earthing switch and secondary plug scope.
- Control power source, continuous and short-duration loads, alarms and remote points.
- Room dimensions, withdrawal path, rear access, lifting or parking area, cable trench and ventilation.
- Required GA, mechanism, interlock, wiring, terminal, test, maintenance and handover documents.
- Special tools, trolleys, spare parts, packing, site attendance and exclusions.
- Inspection points, factory checks, site tests, acceptance limits and unresolved decisions.
Review the Medium Voltage Switchgear product family and submit the marked position schedule through Request a Quote. Final truck construction, ratings, interlocks and acceptance evidence remain project-specific.
FAQ
Does withdrawable switchgear always include a test position?
Not automatically. The supplier must identify the actual positions, secondary connections, shutters, interlocks and permitted operations for the offered lineup.
Can the truck position schedule be approved separately from the single-line diagram?
They should be reviewed together. The truck belongs to a panel function, and its permitted operations depend on the feeder, bus arrangement, earthing method and control philosophy.
Does a factory racking test prove the site maintenance route is workable?
No. The site team must confirm the installed withdrawal path, lifting or parking arrangement, clearances, cable interfaces and final operating records.
